OCCURRENCE

Instrumentation: Standard Big Band (5-4-4 + rhythm + 2 female vocals): Occurrence: Is a suite in 3 parts. It was composed on commission from Hardanger Big Band to their 35 year anniversary. The 2 female vocalist are a part of the orchestration and with no lyrics, just “ah” sounds. It features a written flugelhorn solo as well as a trombone section soli. There are also some easy backgrounds in different sections. Towards the end, there is a tenor sax solo on a Latin groove.
